About Robin Mackin

Dr. Robin Mackin is a general academic paediatrician at the Children's Hospital (LHSC) and an assistant professor in the Department of Paediatrics at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University. Dr. Mackin's research interests include medical education.

Dr. Robin Mackin joined the team in 2020 as a General Paediatrician in the Division of Academic Paediatric Medicine.  She obtained her M.D from the University of Ottawa before moving to Hamilton to complete her paediatric residency training at McMaster University.  She completed an academic fellowship year at McMaster with a clinical focus in acute care medicine and a scholarly focus in medical education.  Dr. Mackin has also worked in rural and northern locations as a regular locum in the Northwest Territories. 

Dr. Mackin completed the AFC-PER Clinician Educator diploma program through the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons and is currently completing her MHPE from Maastricht University.  She is passionate about education and strives to create learning environments that foster the development of excellent healthcare professionals.  She uses her innovative lens to develop curriculum and educational resources that promote comfort in caring for paediatric patients. Her past experience as an elite athlete largely influences her interest in the role of coaches in medicine.
