About Robin Cooper

Robin Cooper, Ph.D., is Professor of Conflict Resolution and Ethnic Studies and Assistant Dean for Strategic Initiatives and Program Development at NSU’s Halmos College of Arts and Sciences (HCAS). Her numerous publications and conference presentations reflect her strong research interests in identity-based conflict, cross-cultural conflict resolution, collaborative practices in organizational contexts, qualitative research, and student learning. As a scholar with a commitment to interdisciplinary research, Dr. Cooper has been awarded NSU’s External Funding Recognition Award in 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2022. She is former Co-Editor of the Peace Education Book Series for Information Age Press, Senior Advisory Editor of Peace and Conflict Studies, former Senior Editor of The Qualitative Report, Associate Editor of Forum: Qualitative Social Research, and an Associate of the Taos Institute, a community of scholars whose practice reflects the principles of social constructionism. She is also on the Board of the Peace and Justice Studies Association. Dr. Cooper teaches a wide range of courses and has participated in program and curriculum development, assessment, and revision, as well as pedagogical research on student learning. She is committed to student-centered education and a culture of research at HCAS.
