THE ORIGINAL CONSTITUTION: WHAT IT ACTUALLY SAID AND MEANT (2d ed. 2011)(2011)
AbstractThis is the first book to explain the meaning of the Constitution as the courts would have applied it immediately following adoption of the Bill of Rights. It relies not only on the the usual staples of constitutional scholarship (such as writings by the Founders), but also on rules of 18th century law and drafting practice, and the Founders' shared educational canon and historical understandings.
