Sermon Studies: Where Are We? Where Have We Been? Where Are We Going?
Session Abstract

Each year's conference concludes with a dicussion of what we would like to see happen next, not just with the conference itself, but with the field of sermon studies as a whole. Three major decisions came out of this year's session:

  1. The conference will move to an every-other-year basis, with the 2021 meeting taking place at Oxford Brookes University
  2. There will be a special issue of Sermon Studies, featuring revised and expanded version of selected papers from the conference. The submission deadline is January 1, 2020.
  3. We will begin the process of creating a formal organization for sermon studies. This group has a working title of "Sermon Studies Association."
