About Robert Stein

Dr. Robert Stein is a pediatric endocrinologist at the Children's Hospital (LHSC) specializing in transgender health, as well as diseases and disorders related to hormones and other aspects of the endocrine system.

Most of his research, as division head of Endocrinology in the Department of Paediatrics, involves contributing patient data to large-scale studies, such as a national project on teens who are undergoing gender transition therapy.

A primary aspect of Dr. Stein's work is to support medical students as Assistant Dean (Undergraduate) at the Learner Equity and Wellness Office at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University. Dr. Stein also runs multiple clinics at the London Health Sciences Centre.


Dr. Stein is an Associate Professor in the Department of Paediatrics at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, Western University and is the Division Head of Paediatric Endocrinology at Children’s Hospital.  Dr. Stein joined Children's Hospital in August of 2003. He completed his B.Sc. at McGill University in 1993 and continued on to obtain his MD in 1997. Dr. Stein completed a general paediatric residency program at the Montreal Children's Hospital and then began a three year fellowship in paediatric endocrinology training at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto. During this time, in 2001, Dr. Stein received the FRCP in Paediatrics.

Dr. Stein serves as Assistant Dean, Learner Equity & Wellness for the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry. He is also the medical director for Camp Discovery, a summer camp for children with Type 1 diabetes.


Dr. Robby Stein is Section Head of the Section of Pediatric Endocrinology, and is an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University.

As Assistant Dean, Learner Equity & Wellness (Undergraduate), his role is to develop a comprehensive, proactive program to address wellness issues in undergraduate learners early and effectively.  This role includes developing a curriculum of workshops to proactively promote wellness.  He also meets individually with students with identified challenges and develops effective management plans to support their learning.
