My research involves the preparation and structural characterization of transition metal-organic ligand networks, especially those that show novel coordination network arrangements. We are particularly interested in copper(I) and rare earth compounds that show photoluminescence and can interact with molecules in the environment to produce a change in luminescence emission. Such materials are of interest for use environmental sensors and other applications.
