About Robert K. Collins

Bob Collins has practiced and taught divorce and family mediation for the past 35 years. He served as a founder and president of the Family and Divorce Mediation Council of Greater New York and as chair of the Ethics Committee of the New York State Council on Divorce Mediation. He holds a B.A. from Yale College, and a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. Prior to teaching, he worked in private practice for Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, and was a partner at Davidson, Dawson & Clark, and an Assistant D.A. in the New York County District Attorney’s office. He has taught dozens of courses on divorce and family mediation at various universities, including Hofstra, Seton Hall and Brooklyn Law, and has been cited as among the pioneers of divorce mediation in New York.
Professor Collins is a member of Cardozo's Kukin Program for Conflict Resolution.  He teaches the Divorce Mediation Clinic, Divorce Mediation, Family Law, and New York Matrimonial Drafting and Procedures.
