ROBBIE LIEBERMAN is Professor at Kennesaw State University outside of Atlanta. Her publications include “My Song Is My Weapon:” People’s Songs, American Communism and the Politics of Culture 1930-1950 (University of Illinois Press, 1989, 1995), which won the Deems-Taylor Award from ASCAP; The Strangest Dream: Communism, Anticommunism and the U.S. Peace Movement 1945-1963 (Syracuse University Press, 2000); and Prairie Power: Voices of 1960s Midwestern Student Protest (University of Missouri Press, 2004). She edited a volume in the series History in Dispute on The Red Scare Since 1945 (St. James Press, 2004). Recent publications include a book, co-edited with Clarence Lang, Anticommunism and the African American Freedom Movement: “Another Side of the Story” (Palgrave-Macmillan, 2009, 2011), and a chapter, “The Long Black and Red Scare: Anticommunism and the African American Freedom Struggle,” in Little Red Scares: Anticommunism and Political Repression in the United States, 1921-1946, Robert Goldstein, ed. (Ashgate Publishing, 2015). She served as editor of Peace & Change: A Journal of Peace Research from 2006-2011.
