About Rob Nyland

Dr. Rob Nyland started at Boise State University in 2017 and is currently an adjunct faculty member with the Department of Theatre, Film and Creative Writing. Previously Dr. Nyland managed the eCampus Research & Innovation Team, which focuses on consulting with Boise State faculty and staff regarding ensuring evidence-based design practices in their online courses and programs. Dr. Nyland earned a Ph.D. in Instructional Psychology & Technology, a M.A. in Mass Communications, and a B.A. in Media Arts Studies all from Brigham Young University. His research interests include learning analytics, adaptive/personalized learning, and competency-based education, and his creative projects involve working as a sound designer and colorist for the documentary short Convert.
