Graphic novels have become an increasingly popular medium in recent years, and many public libraries are expanding their collections to include more of these books. However, graphic novels can often be difficult to browse, with many titles crowded together on shelves and little indication of what they contain. Just using the author's last name for a call number also makes it difficult to locate other volumes in a series, other series with the same character, and where to start a rebooted storyline. This poster will detail how the Kenosha Public Library made graphic novels more browsable. We will share the steps for organizing graphic novels clearly and logically. Examples will show how call numbers and spine labels are used to organize the collection. We will also highlight the impact of this new browsability on our circulation and collection development goals.
