What alters plant photosynthetic regulatory mechanism in environments?
Environment and Photosynthesis: A Future Prospect (2017)

Abstract
Plant encounters water deficits during their life cycle. This phenomenon is likely to increase in
future due to change in the environmental conditions. The regulation of metabolism in
photosynthesis is as well reliant on several practices as that can be affected by water deficit,
CO2 diffusion, distribution of carbon to non-photosynthetic parts, osmoprotectants creation
and other such characteristics of plant physiology and biochemistry. So, in order to survive
plants have to face frequent alterations in metabolism and other structural changes mediated
by changes in regulation of expression of different genes involved. Hence, understanding of
plant responses toward drought can play a major role in steadying crop performance and in the
protection of natural vegetation under such conditions. The main objective of this article is to
briefly elucidate the regulation and mechanism of photosynthetic processes’ as affected by water
deficit or drought stress in plant cells.
