Strategic Planning for Archival Organizations Using Logic Models
Northwest Archivists Annual Meeting (2016)
Logic models provide one approach to demonstrate the meaningful impact archives and cultural organizations have with our stakeholders and communities. A logic model is a graphical representation of an archival collection, department, or organization’s inputs, outputs, and outcomes to the communities they serve. Logic models can help apply strategic thinking to archival activities such collection management, curation, and promotion, and generate valuable discussion about strategic importance. This presentation will demonstrate the value in creating archivesrelated logic models and provide a handson opportunity to learn what a logic model is, how to build one, and related activities to advance strategic thinking with these new tools.
