Critical reflection in librarianship: where does the library end and the librarian begin?

Abstract
This poster reports the results of a dissertation project that used a curriculum of structured critical reflection with a cohort of practicing librarians. Ongoing reflection is an essential librarian competency as it bridges thought and action; uncovers personal values of librarianship; and grounds practice with theory. The dissertation explored how personal experience informs not only professional practice but librarianship as a whole.
