About Richard Stansbury

Dr. Stansbury’s research areas are in unmanned aircraft systems (UAS), integration of unmanned aircraft systems into the National Airspace System, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Automatic Dependent Surveillance Broadcast (ADSB) for Commercial Space Applications, Constraint Programming and Optimization.  He is the ERAU site director and principal investigator for the ASSURE FAA Center of Excellence for Unmanned Aircraft Systems., and the ERAU principal investigator for the FAA Center of Excellence for Commercial Space Transportation. He has conducted research funded by the FAA, NASA, NOAA, and the US Department of Transportation.  He also has an active research group focused upon machine learning, data science, and big data analytics for aviation applications.
