About Richard Alan Lesar

Richard Lesar is a Lynn Gleason Professor of Interdisciplinary Engineering. He received a BS in chemistry from the University of Michigan in 1975. He also received an AM in physics in 1977 and a PhD in chemical physics in 1981, both from Harvard University. His interest areas include materials theory, modeling, and simulation; dislocation-based plasticity; multiscale design; and microstructural evolution. He has been a member of the editorial board of the annual reviews of materials research since 2001. He is also a member of the editorial board on the current opinion in solid state and materials science since 2012.
