AbstractAn old philosophical riddle asks "If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?" The “Climategate” tree has fallen, and there were plenty of people around, both in Copenhagen and Washington, to hear it. The question is, however, was anyone listening? For the sake of the Copenhagen conference, and our Republic, one hopes so.
