Clinical Skills: Obsolete or Neonate?

Abstract

The article explores several ideas. One is the concept of studying an individual or studying general laws which apply to all men. Another is the actuary or statistician's ability to make more valid diagnostic predictions about human beings than the clinician. The general change in skills, professional identities and culture is explored.
