Abstract

This study examines the experimenter-bias in regard to the examiners E using nonverbal cues or receiving nonverbal cues would bias their scoring of WAIS records of Ss college students. Two studies were conducted with Es administrating. The first administered a photo-ranking task and then the WAIS. The second used Rotter's Locus of Control Scale (LC) and Byrne's Revised Repression-Sensitization Scale (R-S) and were group-administered. Then photo ratings were administered individually to eight Es. Then the WAIS was administrated. All results were non-significant, suggesting that the experimenter-bias effect is weak and may not generalize across tasks, Es, and Ss.
