Abstract

The Psychiatric Status Schedule (PSS) and the Sixteen Personality Factor Questionnaire (16 PF) were administered to 181 applicants for rehabilitation services. Canonical redundancy analysis indicated that 18% of the normal personality variance was predictable from the PSS and 15% of psychopathology variance was associated with the 16 PF. Two significant pairs of canonical variates accounted for the majority of the total redundancy. These were identified as (1) anxiety and depression with associated behavioral and cognitive dysfunctions, and (2) sociopathic tendency with associated emotional and behavioral manifestations.
