This brief report describes an ethnic minority/refugee mental health program in a community mental health center that serves a small multicultural population. In order to provide an evaluation example of a program serving these groups, the Agency Cultural Competence Checklist was completed by an outside observer during a four-hour visit. There was almost complete agreement between the checklist components and the more detailed description. Further investigation of the usefulness of this checklist in human service agencies or systems appears to be justified.
