Carson's Book: A story about adoption from China
(2005)

Book
Abstract
This story was created as a vehicle to gently tell the story to my young daughter about how we came together as a family. The author hopes the story provides a starting point to prompt discussions between parents and their own adoptive children. To this end, the complexities of adoption are generalized to focus only on the essential family-building story. The author believes that adoptive families should tell their own story in sensitive, yet open dialogue. The story is punctuated with questions to elicit imaginative responses from children about what they think the central character will do as she matures into adulthood. Will she be curious about her biological parents? About China? Most of all, the author hopes you will enjoy the story - Carson's story - and the story of many other of her sisters that still come from China.
