Abstract
In his article "Liminal (Not Minimal)," Richard Busby explores the concept of liminal space, a transitional phase in both personal and professional contexts. Liminal spaces are described as the empty rooms and moments of transition between what was and what is, such as the feelings experienced when leaving a familiar environment or saying goodbye to a loved one. Busby emphasizes that while lingering in a liminal state can be fruitless and debilitating, it is also a time for reflection and growth. He encourages readers to embrace these moments, celebrate connections, and move forward with intention. By recognizing the presence of liminal spaces and making conscious choices, individuals can navigate transitions more effectively, finding new opportunities for personal and professional development. Busby underscores the importance of agency, positive reflection, and seeking guidance to make the most of these transitional periods, ultimately leading to a more fulfilling life and career.
