Honors and Awards
- George W. Morey Award (2004) from the American Ceramic Society for ‘new and original work in glass science and technology’
- Gottardi Prize from the International Commission on Glass (1996) for contributions to glass science by a young researcher
- PACE-Schwartzwalder award (1994) as the nation’s outstanding young ceramic engineer
- Several teaching awards from Missouri S&T
- Delivered the Scholes Lecture in 2009 (Alfred University), for ‘significant contributions to the field of glass science’, and the Cooper Lecture (2010)
