(2014)

Abstract
The purpose of this research was to discover and understand the affects faculty incivility had on a student’s ability to learn in nursing education. The basic qualitative research methodology utilized the lived experiences of associate degree nursing students who had encountered faculty incivility. Seven participants completed a semi-structured interview via telephone. Colaizzi’s data analysis method led to the emergence of four main themes: teaching-learning environment, faculty-student interrelationship, emotional impact, and adaptive behaviors. The themes supported the negative impact faculty incivility had on the student’s learning.
