Abstract

We researched the social determinants of health that can impact the development of cirrhosis. We overviewed what cirrhosis is and the education that the nurse should give the patient, as education is a major part of a nurse's job. We then researched how social, environmental, food, and economic burden factors can impact whether a patient develops cirrhosis, and how it progresses. Finally, we propose a plan to address these social determinants in order to reduce the percentage of people who have cirrhosis, and assist patients in receiving help earlier.
