Abstract
A biography of former Supreme Court of Georgia Chief Justice Leah Ward Sears is presented, focusing on her early years. It comments on her parents, Thomas Euric Sears and Onnye Jean Roundtree Sears, and her experiences growing up in a military family. The author particularly reflects on Ward's time in Savannah, Georgia. Her education at Savannah High School and Emory University School of Law is also considered.
