Welcome to the interactive project page for our course-based DNA Barcoding project characterizing biodiversity in the Edith J. Carrier Arboretum on the campus of James Madison University in Harrisonburg VA. JMU undergraduates and collaborating local high school students are using this project as a vehicle for learning advanced applied skills in Molecular Ecology, Molecular Biology, and Bioinformatics as well as gaining an appreciation for the natural world in the Shenandoah Valley.
