About Rasmus R Simonsen, Ph.D.

Rasmus R. Simonsen is currently teaching in the Centre for American Studies and the Department of English at Western University, Canada. In 2012, he published “A Queer Vegan Manifesto” in the Journal for Critical Animal Studies. It is the first essay endeavoring to capture the personal and theoretical aspects of going vegan from a queer perspective. Since its initial publication, it has been published in book form by Ortica Editrice in Italian as Manifesto Queer Vegan. Encompassing a number of different interests, Simonsen’s publication record includes articles and book chapters on topics ranging from Oscar Wilde’s fairy-tales to contemporary zombie cinema. He lives in London, Ontario, with his partner and his cat.
