Description
The Upjohn Institute for Employment Research will be participating in the project on Local Job Creation in the United States within the OECD LEED Programme of Work and Budget 2011-2012. This review will examine how labor market policy and skills development activities can best support good quality job creation locally in the context of the economic recovery. The work will review the coordination and synergies between policies as well as their flexibility in management and their adaptation to new contexts, such as a greener economy and demographic change. It will examine the ability of employment services and training providers to contribute to a long-term strategy which can yield returns in terms of resilience of the local economy, skills levels and job quality.
