About Rahbel Rahman

Rahbel Rahman is an assistant professor in the Binghamton University Department of Social Work. Dr. Rahman earned her PhD and her MSW with a concentration in advanced research methods from the Columbia University School of Social Work.
She has over seven years of experience leading the design, implementation, analysis, evaluation and dissemination of community-based participatory research projects. Dr. Rahman's research trajectory spans from the United States to Pakistan to Brazil. Her projects have focused on community-based models of disease prevention and collaborative practices among health and social service providers. Her dissertation focused on how Brazil’s Unified Health System examined how health service providers (community health workers, nurses and physicians) in transdisciplinary teams integrate disease prevention services with social services.
