About Ragini N Shah

Ragini Shah is writing about the relationship between economic liberalization and migration from the global south to the global north. Currently, her work is focused on the relationship between neoliberal reforms in Mexico and unauthorized migration from that country to the United States. Shah examines the claims of international and state actors like the IMF and the U.S. to reduce economic hardship and attendant migration and contrasts that with evidence from social science research showing that unauthorized migration has been on the rise since the first IMF contracts.
