Rachel Parker has near 20 years’ experience spanning research and international development and leads an agenda focused on learning through play, early years education and global learning. This includes developing a common language for the pedagogies of play at school. ‘Learning through play at school’ has been used by partners to advocate for changes to policy and practice and as prescribed reading for pre-service teachers. Rachel leads a four-year LEGO Foundation-funded impact study of learning through play at school in Ukraine, and led a six-year UNICEF-funded longitudinal study of the factors that influence achievement and growth in the first four years of school in the Philippines. Rachel’s skills include team leadership, research design and implementation, quantitative and qualitative methods, data, policy and curricula analysis, stakeholder relationship management, reporting, and program management.
