I am an associate professor at San José State University with a research program focusing on an invertebrate genetic model of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. In addition, since 2009 I have been working as a freelance editor for Aplia, Inc., a textbook publishing company in Belmont, California. I serve as a reviewer of problem sets for the Biology project, using my expertise as a geneticist, behavioral scientist, neuroscientist, and my broad-based knowledge of biology to determine the quality and scientific accuracy of the problems produced and to suggest improvements.
