About Rabia Mujahid

Rabia Mujahid graduated from National Defense University, Islamabad in 2015 with a Master’s in Public Policy. She enrolled in the INCM PhD Program at Kennesaw State University because of its outstanding faculty and research facilities. Rabia believes that her PhD will enable her to tackle the development issues being faced by Pakistan. She wants to work for a legislative framework that provides basic human rights to every women and child of Pakistan; which also includes free access to education, health and a good wage structure. A legislation structure that makes sure that no vulnerable woman ever dies out of acid attack, domestic violence or honor killing.

Her research interests include Women empowerment, Role of women in politics & peace building, and Poverty alleviation.

Her proposed dissertation research is “What role does Democracy play in the alleviation of corruption and political empowerment of women: A Comparative Analysis of Pakistan and Rwanda Parliament”. She will use a qualitative method of study for this proposed dissertation.

Prior to her graduate experience, she worked for five years in public and private universities of Pakistan as a visiting lecturer.
