Abstract
Coggan v. Coggan, 239 So. 2d 17 (Fla. 1970). The issues in the case center on the severance and income of property held by tenants-in-common. In Coggan v. Coggan, the court denies a co-tenant wife her share of the rents collected by her out of possession husband. This opinion is riddled with gender role and power assumptions. This book series reexamines historical and seminal opinions in property law using feminist legal theory and critical legal analysis to highlight any obvious voids in the opinion. The rewritten opinion is a contemporary attempt to predict how the outcome would be altered under this new approach to legal analysis and decision making.
