Adult Education and Lifelong Learning in the Caribbean and Latin AmericaAdult Education Research Conference Proceedings (2011)
AbstractIn this paper, we explore the concept of adult education and lifelong learning in the Latin America and Caribbean region and situate it within the context of the CONFINTEA V, Agenda for Adult Education which was more recently reaffirmed by CONFINTEA VI. The first section provides a contextual discussion of how adult education and lifelong learning are conceptualized in the region while the second discusses the region’s response to the agenda for adult education. The third segment highlights some of the associated challenges and concludes with implications for adult educators.
