About Peter R. Reilly

Professor Peter Reilly joined the faculty in 2010. Prior to teaching at Texas A&M School of Law, Professor Reilly was on the faculty of Texas Wesleyan School of Law in Fort Worth, Texas, UNLV's William S. Boyd School of Law in Las Vegas, Nevada, and Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, Kansas. Prior to that, Reilly spent three years as adjunct law professor and Hewlett Fellow in Conflict Resolution and Legal Problem-Solving at Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C.
Before entering academia, Professor Reilly was Attorney-Advisor within the Office of General Counsel at the United States Commission on Civil Rights in Washington, D.C. The Commission, which is an independent, bipartisan fact-finding agency of the executive branch, conducts civil rights investigations in areas such as voting rights, university integration, and police misconduct.
Professor Reilly's scholarship focuses generally in the area of Alternative Dispute Resolution, with a strong interest in the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, ethics, emotional intelligence, and theories of influence and persuasion within the context of mediation and negotiation. In 2014, Reilly received the Dean’s Scholarship Award, which annually recognizes two Texas A&M School of Law faculty members (one pre-tenure and one post-tenure) who demonstrate “steadfast commitment and contribution to legal scholarship.” Reilly’s scholarship has been published in the Brigham Young University Law Review (forthcoming), Florida Law Review (forthcoming), Hastings Law Journal, Hastings Business Law Journal, Negotiation Journal, Nevada Law Journal, And Ohio State Journal On Dispute Resolution.
Professor Reilly earned a B.A. from Princeton University, J.D. from Harvard Law School, and LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center. Reilly clerked for the State Appeals Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
