Alle Breve
(2010)
Abstract
Helen Creighton’s anthology Songs and ballads from Nova Scotia (Toronto: Dent & Sons, 1932) is a unique collection of historic Canadian vocal music that remains in print at an affordable price. A Kodály-tailored analytic survey of the melodies is presented in table form, so as to make the anthology more accessible to teachers seeking repertoire appropriate to their classes' specific requirements.
