About Pedro Derosa

Dr. Derosa undergraduate degree is Licenciado in Physics and equates to a B.S. plus a M.S. in physics and was obtained from the National University of Córdoba in Argentina.  He also has a PhD in Physics from the University of Córdoba. He conducted postdoctoral research at the University of South Carolina and became a Joint Faculty between Louisiana Tech University and Grambling State University in 2004.

Dr. Derosa’s group main interest is the multiscale modeling of organic conductors. A hopping model is used to describe conductivity in polymer but parameters necessary at this scale are obtained from calculations at smaller scales.  He is currently extending his research into nanocomposites. Another area of research is diffusion at the nanoscale, particularly molecular diffusion in nanotubes, this research has applications in drug delivery and anticorrosion additive among others.
