About Paula C. Carder

Dr. Carder's research agenda is broadly concerned with institutional and socio-cultural attitudes about aging, frailty, and dementia. She examines these concepts by studying the policies that govern assisted living and memory care communities, the practices of senior housing communities, and the daily lived experience of people who live and work in these communities. She is especially interested in the use of qualitative methods to study institutional and organizational practices as well as individual experiences of systems and policies
