About Paul Rothstein
Paul Rothstein is an economist and the Section Chief of the Financial Institutions and Regulatory Policy group in the Office of Research at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. His fields of interest include public sector economics, applied microeconomics, and regulation. Before joining the Office of Research, he served as a Senior Economist at the Federal Trade Commission, an Associate Professor of economics at Washington University in St. Louis, and the Associate Director of the Murray Weidenbaum Center on the Economy, Government, and Public Policy at Washington University in St. Louis. He holds a B.A. in economics and political science from Yale University and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of California-Berkeley.
