About Paul Diller

My research focuses on the crucial role that local governments play as policy innovators in our federalist system. I have served as a consultant to many nonprofit groups that seek to promote innovative, progressive policies on the local and state levels.
Before teaching, I clerked for Chief Judge Edward R. Becker of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit in Philadelphia and then was a trial attorney in the Civil Division of the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C.
When not working, I might be found playing (or just watching) baseball, skiing, drinking coffee, or spending time with my family.
