About Paul A. Story

Dr. Paul A. Story is an associate professor at Kennesaw State University and works across two departments, the department of Psychology Science and the School of Conflict Management, Peacebuilding and Development.  Dr. Story’s research interests include both basic and applied topics in Industrial / Organizational psychology. For example, he has investigated how those who are callous and manipulative (e.g., Machiavellianism, narcissism, and psychopathy) relate to others.  He has also studied how being either intrinsically or extrinsically motivated affects expectations of success and the frequency of self-reinforcing behaviors. In the workplace, he has examined how meeting basic psychological needs will increase one’s drive to go the extra mile at work. His philosophy as a teacher is to inspire students to learn and provide them with the skills necessary for critical thinking for research and ability to handle conflict productively.
