This special issue, guest-edited by Scott Lyall and James Benstead, marks 100 years since C. M. Grieve's first publication under the name 'Hugh McDiarmid. Contents include Scott Lyall's introduction, eight essays, and an appendix with the first translation into English of Denis Saurat's 1924 French essay on MacDiarmid and the Scottish Renaissance group.
