Abstract
This issue of Studies in Scottish Literature opens with a symposium, Reframing and Mediation in Medieval & Renaissance Scottish Literature, guest-edited and introduced by Tricia McElroy and David Parkinson, presenting four papers from the International Conference held at the University of Alabama in 2021. That is followed by another special section, on the poet and calligrapher Esther Inglis (c.1570-1624), with an essay by Jamie Reid Baxter on her Octonaries upon the Vanitie and Inconstancie of the World, accompanied by the first-ever printed edition, from a manuscript in the Folger Library, co-edited with Georgianna Ziegler, textual notes, and three appendices. These are followed by a variety of articles, shorter notes, and reviews, on topics from 18th century rhetoric to contemporary Scottish poetry.
