An exploration of aged care nurse's readiness and ability to use IT in their work - outline of a proposed researchFaculty of Informatics - Papers (Archive)
AbstractDramatic changes in health care have led to a major restructuring of clinical nursing practice. In addition to data processing functions, computers are being used for assisting nurse care delivery such as monitoring patients, scheduling, order entry and result reporting, preventing drug interactions by cross-referencing drug compatibilities and warning appropriate staff of potential risks. This research will mainly focus on investigating the perceptions of use of clinical IT by aged care nurses. Aged care nurses' acceptance and ability to use IT to conduct every day tasks will be investigated.
