About Patricia Thompson Leavitt

Grounded in an inherent respect for students as teachers and learners, my education philosophy and teaching methodology involves actively engaging students in challenging assumptions including that of the teacher, translating to a classroom (whether live or online) which is more chaotic than orderly. As an example, using a case-based approach in clinical teaching, the student is challenged to work inductively towards possible solutions versus deductively to a foregone conclusion. Informational content then becomes a resource for students to support their scholastic and clinical inquiry. Combining this thought-evoking environment with academic and clinical rigor create a foundation for students to meet national standards of excellence.
