About Patricia A. Thiel

Patricia A. Thiel, earned her B.A. in 1975 from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota, and her Ph.D. in 1980 from the California Institute of Technology, where she was an NSF Predoctoral Fellow, an IBM Predoctoral Fellow, and an American Vacuum Society Scholar. During 1981 she was a fellow of the Alexander van Humboldt Foundation and performed postdoctoral research at the University of Munich in West Germany. In 1982 she was a staff member at Sandia National Laboratory in Livermore. She joined the faculty at Iowa State in 1983.
