About Patricia Gorman

Patricia Gorman, an Assistant Professor with Commonwealth Honors College, received her Ph.D. in Anglo-Irish Literature and Drama from University College Dublin, Ireland. She holds Master’s degrees in the fields of English, Liberal Studies and Education, a background which contributes to the interdisciplinary focus of her teaching and research interests. Before teaching at UMass, Dr. Gorman designed and taught graduate and undergraduate interdisciplinary courses at Clark University and the Clark’s affiliate, the Worchester Art Museum. In Commonwealth College she has taught the Dean’s Book course, Metaphor and Creativity and a Capstone Experience course, Gender Politics of Representation. Dr. Gorman is currently teaching the Honors Seminar in Commonwealth Honors College and Irish Writers and Cultural Contexts, focusing on interdisciplinarity and honors pedagogy.
Currently editing a book project on Joyce’s Ulysses, Gorman is also researching the incorporation of art in interdisciplinary course content.
