About Patricia Mason
Dr. Patricia Mason is an Associate Professor in the School of Education and Human Services at Molloy College in Rockville Centre, New York. She teaches graduate education courses in special and inclusive education as well as curriculum development and strategies. Her previous education careers were certified special education teacher, education evaluator, and special education administrator. Both her area of research interest and her community service projects continually challenge her to investigate the diversity of factors that interfered with successful teaching and learning in schools for all students. She believes that the resiliency of the teachers and students in today’s education settings deserve to be recognized as relevant and important to the field of education. Her presentations both locally and nationally address student empowerment to achieve academic success as well as student engagementfor students with emotionally and behaviorally disabilities. Dr. Mason also consults with special education teachers in urban schools to facilitate best practice. Also, she has developed and directed summer enrichment programs and tutoring programs for local youth and workshops for their parents.
